Hi there,
These resources are put together to give you a strong foundation to prepare you for your Stage 1 assessment and actionable tips on how to improve your clinical skills in practice.
Whether you are a student or a fully qualified Optometrist, you will find the notes here easy to read, comprehend and act on.
These are not study hacks but actual guidance to develop your mindset and clinical skills so that you will be a confident Optometrist.
About me
I became a qualified Optometrist in 2019, where I completed my Prereg and worked in Scotland before moving down to England.
Having gone from working independently in remote places to a fast-paced multiple across the 2 regions, I have a vast experience in the different aspects of clinical management and referral pathways across the different regions.
I completed the Minor Eye Condition Scheme (MECS) shortly after moving down to England and then finished the Professional Certificate in Medical Retina. Optom Thoughts started out on Instagram where I dissect how different ocular conditions can present similarly on the OCT scans.
After much encouragement from my Preregs whom I had worked and helped, I started writing resources to help those who lack the support they receive from their supervisor.
Why are a lot of these notes available for free?
Because I strongly believe in giving value first. With just a few minutes of your time, you can explore these study materials and decide if they are helpful - without a financial commitment or risk.
